Nigerian Army captured Boko Haram terrorists, neutralised 1 and recover 4 bicycles

On Friday, 3rd November 2017, troops of 152 Battalion, 21 Brigade Nigerian Army, on Operation LAFIYA DOLE, in furtherance of blockade and clearance operations DEEP PUNCH 2 and their resolve to rout out the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists hibernating in some areas, ambushed a group of unsuspecting Boko Haram terrorists along Banki-Bula Yobe road in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.  The troops sprung the ambush on the terrorists and neutralised 1 of them and recovered 4 Bicycles, some Mechanical tools which aids the terrorists vehicle movement, clothes and explosive wires from the ambush site. Similarly, the troops of 151 Battalion, 21 Brigade Nigerian Army, also ambushed some unsuspecting Boko Haram terrorists who were attempting to cross into the Sambisa forest at about 7:40pm same day, along BOCOST-Bama road. Troops neutralized a large number of them while some of the terrorists escaped with gun shot wounds.

A First Republic Minister of Aviation, Mbazulike Amaechi has faulted the manner with which President Muhammadu Buhari handled Nnamdi Kanu and his Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, secessionist group. Truck crushes 4, injures 10 in Ibadan .

No fewer than four people reportedly lost their lives on Saturday at Moniya-Iseyin road, in Ibadan the Oyo State capital when a truck conveying sharp sand lost control. It was also gathered that about ten persons also suffered various degrees of injuries while five motorcycles and three tricycles were destroyed beyond repair. Those who lost their lives in the accident include; a motorcycle operator, a woman, an toddler boy and a trader at the Moniya Butcher market, Ibadan. But, the driver of the tipper was said to have escaped from the scene of the incident unhurt. Eyewitnesses around the scene of the incident informed journalists that the casualty figure would have been higher if not for a member of the transport union unit at the Moniya garage, who saw the haphazard manner with which the truck was descending the hilly road and immediately alerted people to scramble to safety. Presidency releases list of Buhari’s appointees

The presidency has released the full list of all the appointees of President Muhammadu Buhari. The release was in response to the recent media report that 81 of the 100 appointments made by Buhari were from the North, while the other regions shared the remaining 19 appointments.

Okorocha set to spend N850m on christmas tree again – Group alleges

A socio-political group, G42 Imo Liberation Forum, has warned the Okorocha government to desist from “waste of tax payers’ money”. The group said it received information that the administration is set to spend N850m on erecting a tree ahead of Christmas celebration. Okorocha was recently criticised by Nigerians for erecting a statue of South Africa president Jacob Zuma, in Owerri. In a statement on Saturday by G42 Director of Communications, Dr. Walter Duru, the forum described the alleged plan as misplaced priority and a sign of government’s insensitivity.
