Open latter to president Buhari from Comrade Edu Etukakpan

From The Depth of My Heart (Part 1)

Dear President Muhammadu Buhari, I want to go straight to the point, without wasting of time. When you showed interest in 2014, in contesting for the president of our great country, I was happy that you'll come to save our crumbling economy from those who had through greed, selfishness and wickedness, bastardized our economy.

When you eventually won our party's ticket, I was convinced, that you'll defeat the then incumbent president, without any prophecy; and it came to pass.

Your victory at the 2015 presidential poll, came with wild jubilations, cutting a across all regions, despite the propaganda peddled by some persons.
Four to five years down the lane, the country, though has witnessed some developmental strides, has also witnessed some set backs, which has put your administration in bad light, as evidential in our economy, ranging from security, education, commerce, ict, etc.

Your Excellency, there's no gainsaying the fact that, the center can no longer hold, and things have definitely, fallen apart.
It first started when your wife, the First Lady, Dr Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, in your first term, alleged that, you barely know most of your appointees, especially, the Honourable Ministers. And also, that a small group of person's, have hijacked your government- those she called, "hyenas and jackals." We didn't take her serious, and even scolded her for deriding the husband in public.

Again, few months after your inauguration into office for your second term, she came up with some allegations, that your Chief of Staff, Mallam Abba Kyari, wield so much power, and controls your government, to the extent of giving directives. As if this was not enough, she came again to the public, to cry out of alleged high-handedness, by Mallam Mamman Daura.
While we waited for you to react, and respond accordingly, to the allegations by an insider, you never came out to say anything, and we moved on.

Just few days ago, one of your appointees, the National Security Adviser, Rtd Gen. Mungonu, again, issued a serious warning to your Chief of Staff, Mallam Abba Kyari, warning him to desist from holding any form of meeting with Service Chiefs, nor issuing any directive, whatsoever, to any of the Service Chiefs, in order not to undermine the Office of the National Security Adviser.

Your Excellency, without undermining your capacity, but, truth be told, this is a direct pointer, that things are not going well, and that you're not in firm control of your government.
Yes, things are not going well, most especially, in the security sector. Your Excellency, it has become a "norm", that each passing day, hundreds of Nigerians, "must" be killed, either by the Islamic Fundamentalist called Boko Haram, or another sect of politically motivated sponsored group. As a matter of fact, no part of the country is now safe, as we hear of killings everywhere, every day.

Imagine the effrontery by Boko Haram, to re-strike a community, a day after you paid a condolence visit, to the people and community, where they struck the previous day, and even issue a warning "that you should never visit again." Mr President, this is totally unacceptable, and the time to act, is now.

In as much as I am not undermining the efforts of our men of the joint task force, made up of the military and police, I also want to say, that more should be done, concerning the security situation in our country.

To be continued...

Yours Sincerely
Comrade Edu Etukakpan
