Metuh’s Trial: Former President Jonathan fails to appear in court

Former President Goodluck Jonathan failed to appear before Justice Okon Abang yesterday as the court begins sitting in the case of money laundering between the Federal Government and a former National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Olisa Metuh.
Justice Okon Abang had on Monday, October 23rd signed a subpoena ordering the former president to step in as a defense witness to Metuh who had asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to summon the former President to appear before it to give evidence in his ongoing criminal trial. Metuh's counsel had tendered the subpoena before Justice Abang who signed it before the close of work.
Metuh is alleged to have collected N400 million from embattled former National Security Adviser NSA, Sambo Dasuki. The money is said to be part of $2.1 billion arms fund allegedly squandered during the last administration.
