2 children died after man drops bomb-filled polythene bag in Adamawa
Two children died in a bomb explosion in Fadaman Rake area of Adamawa State on Thursday night, new reports reveal.
An unidentified had reportedly dropped a nylon bag at a spot where the children were playing around 7pm.
“The man just stopped his starlet as if he is looking for help,” a local vigilante, identified as Baba Yerima, said.
The bag reportedly exploded as one of the boys proceeded to take it to his father, with the thought that it contained money and other valuables.
The children reportedly died instantly, while two others and a passerby were critically injured.
Adamawa police spokesperson, Othman Abubakar, also confirmed the incident.
He said, “It was one unknown starlet driver that approached some children at Fadaman Rake holding a polythene bag and there he delivered it to one of the kids with a pretence that it was money and other valuables meant for their father.”
